Simultaneous interpreting

Simultaneous interpreting

In simultaneous interpreting, speeches are transmitted “almost in real time”. This requires maximum attention and concentration, which is why at least two simultaneous interpreters usually work together in a soundproof interpreting booth, regularly taking turns and supporting each other. Areas of application: multilingual events, conferences, meetings, negotiations, shows, galas, etc. Simultaneous interpreting equipment: All the technical equipment required for interpreting an event: soundproof interpreting booth(s), interpreting desks, microphones, transmitters, receivers, headphones, cabling, etc. Many venues have fixed interpreting booths. Mobile interpreting booths and the associated technical equipment are rented out by specialized conference technology providers. Recommendations or a list of competent providers can be obtained from the consultant interpreter. The consultant interpreter can contact the relevant companies on behalf of the client, make the necessary arrangements and obtain quotations. * With the kind permission of VKD im BDÜ e.V.

Note: Synergy effects are possible here if the conference technology, including simultaneous interpreting technology, is booked from a single source. So it’s worth asking!
